Tishman Interiors served as Construction Manager for the renovation and fit-out of Verizon’s executive offices at 140 West Street in New York City. The four-floor, 36,000-square-foot project in the landmarked Art Deco building presented Tishman Interiors with the challenge of delivering a modern corporate headquarters while preserving the historical significance of the space.
The offices of the Chairman and President as well as the Boardroom, with its original hand carved curly maple walls, 100-year-old carpet and American chestnut floors were restored and cleaned to their original elegance. Curly maple was used for doors, frames and base on all floors. Custom furniture pieces were created to incorporate high tech audio/visual components in the conference rooms. Existing plumbing, HVAC, electrical and sprinkler elements were replaced to meet current codes and standards.
